Core Club is back and better than thrice before. This letter will tackle the youthful surge that is Rage Point from Malaysia. This band debuted with their 6-song demo earlier 2018 and caught the ear of young core fans across the world. If you have not yet heard it, wise up!


These tracks are back to back energy. The Intro and R.P. Outro are classic "everybody mosh" style build-ups. The bulk of the demo is made up by the tracks Burst, Rage, Reclaim, and Neo- insight. Each track features lyrics powerfully simple and honest. To me this band sounds a bit like Justice from the oo's, though they artistically fall more in line with 80's Orange County bands like Against The Wall and Pushed Aside. The mosh part at the end of Reclaim is without a doubt the high point of the demo. This broad appreciation across generations of core glory is what makes R.P. stand out among their peers that I have come across.


I had a meeting of the minds with Cong, the singer of R.P., who shared with me tons of valued information on his scene, his personality, and his band. Here is just a small excerpt from that conversation. - Garrett Strobel in Tampa, Florida (2018)
